Delete Gmail Contacts Removes them From Google Plus Circles
So I was trying to join some shared Google Plus circles and was getting the error message “Error changing circle memberships.” So I read a post stating it could be due to the fact that you have or have almost hit your limit of Gmail contacts because each person you add to a Circle gets added to your contacts. Not realizing what I was doing I went over to Gmail and deleted all my “Other Contacts” thinking I was making some more space. Well when I went back to Google Plus I noticed nearly all of the users in my Circles were gone. Thanks for the heads up Google! It would have been nice to have a warning come up stating something like “Removing these contacts will also remove them from your Google Circles.”
And yes, you can Restore contacts from within Gmail but this doesn’t add them back to the circles. Go figure.
